Since 1996, CompuCycle has been the premier electronics recycler for both corporate and residential customers in the Greater Houston area. We provide a best-in-class, turnkey solution that stewards and protects clients’ IT assets at every stage of life, with one account manager handling all services.
CompuCycle is a certified woman-owned small business, helmed by President and CEO Kelly Hess. We’re also a family business–the company was founded by Kelly’s father-in-law John Hess, and her husband Clive Hess serves as Executive Vice President.
CompuCycle adds value to corporate clients by transforming their IT departments from a cost center into a profit center. We offer a full spectrum of ITAD services, including onsite inventory, secure data destruction and shredding, asset recovery, asset remarketing, inventory management, and data center decommissioning.
Thanks to our unique shredding system, we are able to guarantee data security to a greater extent than any recycling provider in Houston because we do not have to engage third-party shredders. We lock up your assets before transporting them to our controlled-access facility and generate detailed reports at every stage of decommissioning or destruction to ensure your peace of mind about your intellectual property.
We offer residential recycling services through our partnership with the City of Houston to the City of Houston community at our main processing facility and bi-monthly recycling events at the Recycling Centers in Kingwood and Clear Lake.
In 2011, CompuCycle became Houston’s first company awarded the Responsible Recycling Practices Standard (R2:2013) certification, which is recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). We are also a U.S. General Services Administration (GSA)-approved vendor and part of the Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) program for small, minority-, and women-owned businesses.
We also hold the ISO 14001:2015 environmental management certification and the OHSAS 18001:2007 health and safety management certification.
As of March 2018, we have headquartered in an 80,000-square-foot facility in northwest Houston, with a nearby 40,000-square-foot facility that houses our new shredding and separation system. This state-of-the-art shredder with an eddy current system and optical sorters makes us the only recycler in Houston capable of reducing electronics to raw materials that may be sold into the marketplace.
Protecting our clients’ assets and data and safeguarding the environment are the two pillars that serve as the foundation of everything we do here at CompuCycle.
