Secure Data Destruction
We understand the importance of permanently destroying all data-bearing devices. We provide the highest level of security for destruction of our client’s data. All data media hardware is either shredded or wiped, in compliance with R2:2013, HIPAA, HITECH, Sarbanes Oxley, DOD, PCI, GLB, and FACTA.
CompuCycle uses two methods of data destruction:
All data is sanitized in accordance with National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-88 Guidelines for Media Sanitation and compliant with Department of Defense standards (DOD 5220.22-M). If the data cannot be sanitized, or fails the testing process, it is immediately physically shredded. Our software provides an inventory of all data-bearing devices, a Certificate of Data Sanitization for all data-bearing devices that were successfully sanitized and a Certificate of Data Destruction for all data-bearing devices which were destroyed.
CompuCycle’s commercial shredders chop, mince, and physically shred all storage devices and media into tiny fragments. Entire hard drives assemblies, including the metal cases, are shred and destroyed. CompuCycle offers disk shredding services at either our secure recycling facilities or at client’s locations. A Certificate of Data Destruction is provided for all shredded data-bearing devices.
CompuCycle is vigilant in the removal of all data from the materials processed in our warehouse and we invite our clients to visit our facility to see first-hand the procedures we follow in destroying information.
